What Happens Below the Surface
Concrete fails from underneath far more often than it fails from above. This is the part of the job most homeowners never see.
Excavation
Existing surfaces are removed and the area is dug to a depth suited to the intended use.
Base preparation
Granular material is placed in lifts and compacted so load is supported evenly.
Grading
Elevations are set so the finished surface sheds water away from the house and garage.
Drainage
We identify where water currently goes and where it should go before forming.
Forming
Forms are set and braced to the planned elevations and shapes.
Reinforcement
Rebar or mesh is placed and supported where the project design calls for it.
Placement
Concrete is placed, screeded and consolidated without over-working the surface.
Finishing
Edges are tooled, joints are placed on a planned layout and the chosen finish is applied.
Cleanup
Excavated material is removed and the work area is cleaned before we leave.
