Concrete Removal and Replacement
Breaking out failed concrete, hauling it away, rebuilding the base and pouring a new surface that drains correctly.
Concrete that has heaved, spalled badly or cracked through in multiple directions is usually telling you something about what is underneath it.
Replacement is a chance to fix the original problem: shallow base, poor compaction, or grades that trapped water against the house.
Demolition and disposal
The existing slab is broken out and removed from site. We protect adjacent surfaces, lawn and landscaping as much as the access allows.
Diagnosing the original failure
Once the slab is off, we can see the base. Soft subgrade, insufficient granular depth and drainage running the wrong direction are the common culprits, and each is corrected before we re-form.
Rebuild and repour
New granular base is placed and compacted, forms and reinforcement are set to the corrected grades, and the new slab is placed, jointed and finished.
